On 29 May 2025, we hosted the Criminal Law Teachers' Conference 2025 (Strafrechtslehrertagung) for one day. The theme of the conference was "Criminal Law and Human Rights". In Coutroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, Judge Bertram Schmitt from the International Criminal Court (ICC), gave a speech on the rights of the accused and his experiences after ten years at the ICC. The event concluded with the panel discussion "Right to die, right to live", which dealt with one of the most sensitive ethical issues in our society: euthanasia.
With almost 200 participating professors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the conference was a great success. (cs/em)
