Astrid Walter

Biography

Astrid Walter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and a Master’s degree in International Criminal Justice. From this academic background she pursues an interdisciplinary approach to international law and transitional justice, combining perspectives of legal and social sciences. She has substantial experience in monitoring international criminal law trials, particularly trials held before German national courts. 

While studying at the Philipps-Universität in Marburg, she was working at the International Documentation and Research Centre War Crimes Trials where she managed an interdisciplinary Trial-Monitoring Project. 

She is fluent in German and English and proficient in French.
