Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften – Long Night of Sciences

This year, the Nuremberg Academy took part in an event of the Long Night of Sciences which was organised by the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg on 21 October 2023. Together with the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court and the Judge Advocate General’s Office in Grafenwöhr the Nuremberg Academy staged mock trials according to German criminal procedure and US-American court martial proceedings. All seats were taken in Courtroom 600 when the US Prosecutor gave his opening statement or the German Judge read out the judgement in a fictitious case against a soldier charged with theft and arson. Professor Safferling explained the differences between the two procedural orders and answered questions, raised by the audience. (cs)
