Lecture on International Criminal Law at the International Women's Café by IMEDANA e.V.

15 July 2025

On July 15, 2025, Project Officer Astrid Walter and Senior Officer Dr Gurgen Petrossian gave an informative lecture on international criminal law as part of the project "Refugees as Witnesses of International Crimes." The event took place within the context of the International Women's Café organized by IMEDANA e.V. and was attended by around 50 women with refugee and migration backgrounds to discuss this sensitive and important topic.

The speakers provided practical insights into how international criminal law works—particularly how information about international crimes can be documented and shared with law enforcement authorities.

The International Women's Café by IMEDANA e.V. offers a safer space for refugee women to exchange their experiences, build networks, and take an active role in integrating into society. The event highlighted the importance of awareness-raising, dialogue, and empowerment in working with refugee communities.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to IMEDANA e.V. for organising this meaningful gathering and to all participants for their interest and openness! (aw/gp)
