From 8–12 September 2025, the Nuremberg Academy hosted the “Investigative Interview Skills Course” in cooperation with the Institute for International Criminal Investigations.
This intensive and interactive programme combined theoretical sessions with practical role-play exercises designed to strengthen participants’ interviewing skills in challenging contexts. Drawing on the PEACE model and conversation management techniques, international experts guided participants through essential competencies in questioning, active listening, and communication. The training also offered specialised approaches for interviewing survivors of conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence.
Beyond the classroom, the course featured a cultural component, including visits to the Memorium Nuremberg Trials and the historic Courtroom 600, offering participants a unique opportunity to reflect on the legacy of the Nuremberg Trials and the relevance of the Nuremberg Principles today. (ds)
