In 2015, Friederike Mieth worked at the International Nuremberg Principles Academy as Consultant for the interdisciplinary research project on the Acceptance of International Criminal Law.
In 2016, she took over the Nuremberg Academy’s Human Rights Education Unit replacing a colleague on maternity leave. With great passion and creative ideas, Friederike Mieth covered the broad portfolio and amongst other projects organised a Summer Academy with a focus on education entitled “Education in the Aftermath of Conflict: Learning from the Past?”. During these sunny August days, experts from post-conflict countries and Germany discussed and exchanged different educational approaches and their relevance for societies facing legacies of conflict and repression. This was one of many projects during her time in Nuremberg, Friederike Mieth threw her heart into.
We will deeply miss her enthusiasm, commitment and cheerfulness.
