On 22 July 2026, students from the Master’s programme in “Human Rights, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice” at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina visited the Nuremberg Academy. The group, led by Professor Avni Puka, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Professor Visar Morina, was welcomed by Dr Pablo Gavira Díaz, who introduced the Academy’s work and current projects.
Dr Gavira Díaz also presented recent initiatives jointly undertaken by the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court, the Memorium Nuremberg Trials and the Nuremberg Academy to strengthen the culture of remembrance surrounding the Nuremberg Trials. He explained the ongoing research project aimed at identifying the offices and courtrooms used during the Trials, reconstructing who occupied these spaces and documenting the roles they played in the proceedings.
The visit concluded with a tour of several historically significant rooms in the Palace of Justice, including the former press conference room, the judges’ offices and deliberation room, and the prosecutors’ offices, offering students a unique insight into the setting of the Nuremberg Trials. (pg)
