From 8-10, July, the Nuremberg Academy cooperated with Wilton Park and the British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office to convene a dialogue focussed on the role of Transitional Justice in contemporary conflict resolution. The Nuremberg Academy was represented at Wilton Park by Advisory Council President Dr Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi, Director Professor Dr Christoph Safferling and Senior Officers Kiran Mohandas Menon and Darleen Seda. The dialogue was chaired by Samuel Godsland, Senior Programme Director at Wilton Park.
The dialogue examined shifts in transitional justice mechanisms, funding models and core assumptions, and highlighted areas of innovation. It considered areas in which criminal justice could be more effectively integrated within contemporary mediation and conflict resolution efforts in order to strengthen bottom-up efforts to build an inclusive and sustainable peace.
