Nuremberg Academy Participated in Digital Memory Conference in Berlin

13 January 2026

On 13 and 14 January 2026, the Nuremberg Academy participated in a conference titled “Digital Horizons: The Transformation of the Culture of Remembrance” held in Berlin. Deputy Director Dr Viviane Dittrich attended the two-day conference, which explored changing memory practices in light of new tools, trends and transformations in the digital age. A particular focus was on the role of social media, virtual reality and AI for Holocaust remembrance. The new serious game “Tribunal 45” on the Nuremberg trials, launched recently by the Memorium Nuremberg Trials, was also featured in the discussion. Dr Dittrich exchanged views with conference participants including scholars and representatives of government, memorial sites, the EVZ Foundation and the Federal Agency for Civic Education. The event was organised by the Central Council of Jews in Germany and was held in German.

In Berlin Dr Dittrich also visited the exhibition “Women in International Law” at the Law Faculty of the Humboldt-Universität. (vd)
