On 23 October 2024, master’s students in the European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations currently studying at the University of Oldenburg visited the Nuremberg Academy. Project Officer Dr Emma Brandon welcomed the group and provided them with an introduction to the Academy’s work and to the Nuremberg Principles.
Her presentation was followed by an active discussion that touched topics including at what point hate speech may rise to the level of an international crime and what aspects of the Nuremberg Principles may require updating for the modern context.
The visit was part of the group’s larger study visit to Nuremberg in the context of an international and interdisciplinary master’s degree programme in migration and cultural relations that includes partner institutions in Africa, Asia and other parts of Europe. (eb)
