Move into the East Wing of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice

Leaving its interim premises at the Egidienplatz in the Nuremberg city centre after five years the Nuremberg Academy moved into its new permanent premises in the east wing of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice on 9 October 2020. The founders had already designated this location for the Academy when it was established.

After the completion of a new building for the criminal justice branches of the Nuremberg Regional Court and the Higher Regional Court and the ending of court hearings in Courtroom 600, the time for the move had come. Dr. Thomas Dickert, President of the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court, handed over the symbolic key to Director Klaus Rackwitz in the presence of the President of the Academy's Foundation Board, Dr. Christophe Eick, Legal Adviser and Director-General for Legal Affairs of the German Federal Foreign Office.

In immediate proximity to the historic Courtroom 600, the Nuremberg Academy is now located in a place of great importance for world history and particularly for the field of international criminal law. In addition, the new premises offer more space and modern technology for the Academy's events and activities.
