The Nuremberg Academy participated in an event honouring Mireille Delmas-Marty

From 10 to 12 February 2023, the Chateau de Goutelas paid homage to the eminent jurist and humanist Mireille Delmas-Marty one year after her passing. The Nuremberg Academy, programme partner of the Résidences Adamas, was represented at the event “The solidarity of the living. Towards a community with a shared future” by Senior Officer Anabela Alves.

In her reflections on the renewal of humanism, Mireille Delmas-Marty considered that solidarity with the non-human living is indispensable. The perspective that the human being is not at the centre of the Earth, but a component of the ecosystem, constitutes, according to her, a "Copernican revolution" which calls for imagining forces of law to respond to the new interdependencies.

The complexity of the issues raised required an interdisciplinary dialogue and decompartmentalised analyses. Several panel discussions and presentations intended to continue these reflections and open them to new emerging perspectives: how the solidarity of and with all living beings, human and non-humans, can be expanded and protected.

The three-day programme was opened by Myriam Plet, President of the Association of the Château de Goutelas and Robert Guillaumond, President of the Institut Paul Bouchet.
