FAU President and Max Planck Institute Directors visited the Nuremberg Academy

 

Director Professor Dr Christoph Safferling welcomed a group of prominent academics to the premises of the Nuremberg Academy on 26 April 2024. Professor Dr Joachim Hornegger, President of the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), Professor Dr Marie-Claire Foblets, Director of the Department ‘Law & Anthropology’ at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Professor Dr Ursula Rao, Director of the Department ‘Anthropology of Politics and Governance’ at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, and Professor Dr Dominik Müller, Chair of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the Institute of Sociology at the FAU, visited the Academy for the purpose of knowing more about its mission. Director Professor Safferling presented the work of the Academy in detail as well as its connection to the Nuremberg Trials. In addition, the meeting also served to explore avenues for cooperation in the field of human rights.

The visit of the distinguished group to the Nuremberg Academy was one station of a cultural programme with visits to the Human Rights Street and the Nuremberg City Council. (pg)
