Officials from the Kurdish Regional Government in Iraq visited the Nuremberg Academy

 

On 4 March 2024, officials from the ministry of Martyrs and Anfal affairs and human rights activists from the Kurdish Regional Government visited the east building of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice to learn more about the mission of the Academy and connect with Director Professor Dr Christoph Safferling. Project Officer Alexander Fernandes-Köhler provided a short presentation introducing the work and current activities of the Academy.

Discussions included the national and international recognition of the Kurdish genocides, issues of reparations for victims of atrocities and international criminal cases before German courts for Yazidi and other victims. The officials also brought books on the Kurdish genocide for contribution to the Academy’s Library. (pg)
