On 7 December, an official delegation from the South Korean city of Gwangju visiting the City of Nuremberg was presented with the work of the Nuremberg Academy as part of the official program at the Human Rights Office of the City of Nuremberg.
Kiran Mohandas Menon and Marian Yankson-Mensah, both Project Officers introduced the mandate, current and future projects of the Nuremberg Academy and discussed the current challenges and concerns facing international criminal law in the region and beyond.
The delegation consisted of representatives of the Human Rights Office and the Ombudsman’s office of the City of Gwangju. They were part of a representation that discussed increasing future collaboration between the two cities, considering the strong institutional structures promoting human rights in both cities.
Gwangju holds the World Human Rights Cities Forum, which is held annually.
