On 28 and 30 May 2024, the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, the Asser Institute and the Antonio Cassese Initiative held two days of online seminars for 20 staff members and magistrates of Colombia’s Special Jurisdiction for Peace (Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz). The first day focused on the contextual elements of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The sessions were delivered by Romina Edith Pezzot and Project Officer Dr Pauline Martini respectively. The second day consisted in two sessions on modes of liability, which were covered by María Paula López Velásquez and Marta Valiñas. All sessions were moderated by Dr Marta Bo, Senior Researcher at the Asser Institute.

The online sessions were an integrant part of the seminar on investigation, adjudication and judicial management of grave human rights breaches and violations of international humanitarian law, which will continue taking place in the premises of the Asser Institute in The Hague from 24 to 28 June.
