Film Screening ‘Peace Through Justice’ in Online Event of the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg

 

The Nuremberg Academy showed the documentary ‘Peace Through Justice – The Legacy of Thomas Buergenthal’ in the online discussion ‘International criminal law – more topical than ever!’ initiated by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg, Dr. Thomas Dickert, on 25 January 2021. The discussion was part of a series of events entitled ‘Our Responsibility as Lawyers – Past, Present, Future’ destined for legal trainees and junior judges.

Following the film screening, the Federal Prosecutor General Dr. Peter Frank gave the keynote address, in which he emphasised the Federal Supreme Court case regarding the immunity of foreign soldiers. In the ensuing interactive panel, Dr. Peter Frank, Prof. Christoph Safferling, Director of the International Criminal Law Research Unit of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Klaus Rackwitz, Director of the Nuremberg Academy, discussed with the audience composed of around 100 lawyers, including trainees from the Higher Regional Court district and judges from the Bavarian judiciary.
