Meetings with Nigerian Stakeholders for Capacity Building Measures

Director Klaus Rackwitz and Senior Officer for Training and Capacity Building, Natacha Bracq, met with Bettina Ambach, Director of the Wayamo Foundation, in Abuja, Nigeria, from 13 to 16 May 2019. The International Nuremberg Principles Academy and the Wayamo Foundation have been engaged in projects aimed at enhancing justice and accountability efforts in Nigeria since December 2016.

With the view of continuing their cooperation, they met with several Nigerian key actors to assess their needs for further joint training workshops, such as acting Chief Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola, representatives of the National Judicial Institute, the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), the Complex Case Group of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, the Defence, the Army, and UNODC.

The Nuremberg Academy and the Wayamo Foundation assist Nigerian institutions and legal professionals, including civilian and military investigators and prosecutors, with enhancing their capacity to investigate and prosecute core international crimes through capacity building workshops and a Training of Trainers program.
