On 14 March 2023, the President of the Nuremberg Bar Association (RAK), Dr Uwe Wirsching, visited the Nuremberg Academy accompanied by the RAK Managing Director, Ms Katja Popp. Dr Wirsching presented Director Professor Dr Christoph Safferling with the book "Eine Mutter kämpft gegen Hitler" by Irmgard Litten. The author is the mother of Hans Litten, who as a lawyer was imprisoned by the National Socialists and eventually died in the Dachau concentration camp. This gift already referred to the topic of the discussion, which dealt with the responsibility of lawyers in various professions as well as with the contribution of the legal profession to the Nuremberg Trials against the major Nazi war criminals and the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials. Furthermore, it was agreed that the RAK and the Academy would hold joint events on these topics in the future.
