Advanced Training on the Prosecution of International Crimes
The International Nuremberg Principles Academy, the Office of the Prosecutor of the United Nations Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Strathmore Institute for Advanced Studies in International Criminal Justice (SIASIC) co-organized an advanced training for prosecutors in Kampala, Uganda, from 30 July to 3 August 2018. The training focused on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and experts in the field of international criminal practice conducted the various sessions. It canvassed legal issues such as strategies for prosecuting sexual violence, addressing the challenges that arise thereof as well as improving cooperation between legal justice actors and members of civil society in preventing and addressing sexual and gender-based violence.
