3rd Annual Conference at Strathmore University

 

Appraising Capacity of Institutional Responses to Commission of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Cyberspace


The International Nuremberg Principles Academy, in partnership with Strathmore Institute for Advanced Studies in International Criminal Justice (SIASIC), under the auspices of Strathmore Law School, hosted the 3rd Annual Conference at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya, on 26 and 27 July. The topic of this conference was the perpetration of cyber-based child, gender and sexual offenses. It brought together experts from international organizations, judiciaries, different governments, law enforcement agencies, human rights institutions, civil society organizations, academia, the private sector and the media.

The keynote speakers were:

  • Justice Isaac Lenaola, Justice of the Supreme Court of Kenya
  • Judge Anne Williams (rtd), Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit
  • Hon. Noordin Haji, Director of Public Prosecutions, Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (Kenya)
  • Ms. Janne Holst Hubner, Executive Director of the International Association of Prosecutors (tbc)
