Training "Strengthening Justice and Accountability in Nigeria"

From 21 to 23 May 2018, the Wayamo Foundation and the International Nuremberg Principles Academy held a capacity building workshop for Nigerian military and civil investigators and prosecutors in Abuja, Nigeria. To date, the Wayamo Foundation and the International Nuremberg Principles Academy have held four such workshops on “Strengthening Justice and Accountability in Nigeria” (in December 2016, and March, June and November 2017).

This May 2018 workshop marks the fifth in the series and has been purpose-designed to impart joint training for investigators and prosecutors, both military and civil. The overall aim is to equip Nigerian prosecutors and investigators with the necessary expertise and skill set to address the most serious and complex crimes – international, transnational and terrorism-related – under Nigerian criminal law, including crimes that may potentially fall under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.
