Elias Poya

Biography

Elias Poya is a German lawyer in training, currently completing an LL.M. in International and European Law at the University of Amsterdam, with a specialization in Public International Law. He previously obtained a B.Sc. in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) at the same institution, and spent a semester abroad at the University of Maryland. His main areas of interest focus on International Humanitarian Law and International Investment Law. His master's thesis examines the procedural capacities of development finance institutions under international investment law. He has research experience from the FAU Research Centre for Islam and Law in Europe, where he contributed to the analysis of EU anti-terrorism legislation. Elias Poya also participated in the Amsterdam Law Trials moot court competition. 

He is fluent in English, German and Farsi and proficient in Spanish and French.
