At a meeting between the Director of the Academy Prof. Dr Christoph Safferling and the Chairman of the Jewish Community of Nuremberg (IKG Nürnberg), Jo-Achim Hamburger, and the Managing Director, Ariella Chmiel, the current situation in Germany was discussed, particularly the growing antisemitism. The special role of Nuremberg was also highlighted, and possibilities were explored for jointly and consistently taking a stand against antisemitism.
Jewish life must be possible in Germany without fear or personal restrictions. This is also a responsibility arising from history. The Academy will always be committed to this cause. (bk)
