On 15 January 2026, the Nuremberg Academy had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the academic programme “Desafíos actuales para los Derechos Humanos:  Paz, lucha contra la impunidad, desinformación y desarrollo de la Inteligencia Artificial“, offered by the Berg Institute. Project Officer Dr Pablo Gavira Díaz introduced the participants to the Academy’s mission, structure and key activities. The presentation highlighted the Academy's commitment to advancing international criminal law and justice through dissemination, education and research.

The session, conducted in Spanish, featured a dynamic discussion on the genesis of international law, with references to the preamble of the UN Charter, the Nuremberg Principles and Robert H. Jackson’s opening statement before the International Military Tribunal. The exchange underscored the importance of sustained dialogue and collaborative efforts in addressing impunity and promoting peace and accountability worldwide. (pg)
