From 3 to 4 December 2025, the Nuremberg Academy took part in an international conference titled “Unknown Legacies of the Nuremberg Trial: Regional Approaches and Perspectives in East Central Europe” in Berlin, organised by the Pilecki Institute. Project Officer Dr Pablo Gavira Díaz represented the Academy at this prestigious event, contributing to a roundtable discussion on the London Conference and the preparations for the trial of major war criminals before the International Military Tribunal.
The conference brought together a diverse group of scholars and practitioners to explore Nuremberg’s historical and legal significance. Discussions included the impact of the first Nuremberg trial on the prosecution of major war criminals in domestic courts after the Second World War, with cases from Poland, Hungary, France and Finland among those examined.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Radoslav Sikorski. (pg)
